Formerly known as plain old YouTube Downloader, the recently renamed YTD Video Downloader updates to version 4.0 with a promise of 2x faster downloads and 2x faster video conversions, and perhaps more usefully, the ability to resume downloads after the temporary loss of an Internet connection. As usual, the installer includes a Spigot-based YTD Video Toolbar and offers to change your default search engine to Yahoo and add 5-6 shopping extensions to Google Chrome. Clicking the "Decline" button during the lone advertising screen in the installer lets users easily opt-out of all offers.

Downloading worked very well for popular video sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and Blip.TV. As in previous reviews, YTD Video Downloader quickly saved the default MP4 file to the directory of my choice, which is easily selected or created from the main screen. I tried various CNET and "creative commons"-tagged videos on YouTube and had excellent download speeds. I was sure to try out the most recently added site that YTD supports--the Chinese video site Youku--and was able to download a wonderful beetle animation easily, though it did break longer videos into multiple files (see below).

The free version of YTD Video Download only allows downloading to the MP4 video format, so the additional conversion functionality for changing the file to WMV, AVI, or MP3 is welcome, but why not just convert the download on the fly? Converting video files worked acceptably well, although I did crash the app once converting a Download Video Preview from MP4 to MP3. The conversion completed, but the program become unresponsive and I had to force quit. I experienced other occasional brief program hangs when downloading large videos from foreign sites.

The video player in YTD is supposedly new for v4, but I can't tell the difference from v3. Users select a directory from which to select specific video files, and YTD Downloader plays back the video in a small windows that is about 300x165 pixels. A full-screen button is the only resizing option, and there is no skipping around within videos--the only controls are for moving to the previous or next video on the directory. It's a passable player to confirm that the video you selected was downloaded and is not corrupt, but no one would use YTD for their regular video player.

I tested out YTD's new "resume download" functionality the old-fashioned way--by ripping the ethernet cord out of the back of my PC. The software delivered as promised--after the PC was unplugged, the downloading files updated to a "Status" of "Paused, waiting for Internet connection" and then resumed appropriately after replugging into the network.

One thing I did notice is that YTD will (sometimes) break longer videos into multiple MP4 files, and if one of those files is complete when your Internet or computer crashes, YTD will restart all of those multiple files, even the completed ones. Not a huge problem, just a niggling annoyance, and I wasn't able to replicate the issue on YouTube (YTD always saved my YouTube videos as one file). A bit more frustrating than the mutiple files is the inability to resize the main application window to actually read the contents of the "Status" messages.

YTD Video Downloader version 4.0 doesn't add many new features, but performance of the latest update was impressive, and the app continues to work flawlessly on all the major video-streaming sites. I recommend it whole-heartedly without any reservations, aside from the standard mom-and-pop warning to only use the application for legal purposes per the laws and and regulations that apply to your geographic locale.

Many people ask me the question that how to recover their lost Windows 7 Password on my site or Email. I know they urgently need to access Windows 7 for different reasons. they are worry that the Win7 OS would be destroied and their data would be lost. This is not worried and I will tell you the steps to recover forgotten Windows 7 login password.

Notes: You need a Windows 7 Password Reset disk. If you don¡¯t have created it before, you should use the Windows Password Recovery Tool to burn a reset CD/DVD or USB flash drive.

Step 1. Download the Windows Password Recovery Tool

Go to the official site of Windows Password Recovery Tool, and download it for free. Install it with default options.

Step 2. Create a Windows 7 Password Reset disk

Run this soft, insert a blank cd/dvd or usb flash drive. Follow the step-by-step guide to burn a Windows 7 Password Reset disk. You can burn it to a cd/dvd or USB, it depends on your personal condition. After burning successfully, you get a password reset disk. Now insert this password reset disk into the locked computer which you lost Windows 7 Password.

Step 3. Set the bios config to boot from cd/dvd or usb

• 1. Start your locked Windows 7 Computer, press Del or F2 button while the computer is initalizing. The initial startup screen may be similar as this image. If you do that, you may see the bios config screen.
• 2. Go to the boot menu and change bios setting to make it boot from cd/dvd or usb firstly.
  
• 3. Press F10 to save your changes, then restart this computer.
• 4 . After restart, the computer will automatically load Windows password Recovery Tool and you can start to reset Windows 7 Password.
  

Step 4. Recover Windows 7 Password with the password reset disk.

• 1. Choose the Windows 7 Installation if you have more than one OS in this computer.
• 2. All Windows 7 users will be listed. Select the user name which you forgot its password, click reset button.
  
• 3. A dialog box will be pop-up, click Yes to confirm reset, then this Windows 7 user passwordwill be reset to blank.
  
  
  
• 4. Eject the password reset disk, and restart you computer, login Windows 7 with a blank password.

Google lancar belon udara bekal internet

Gergasi enjin carian internet, Google melepaskan sejumlah belon udara panas dilengkapi pencawang internet ke stratosfera Bumi bagi bagi menyalurkan perkhidmatan dalam talian ke seluruh dunia.

Mengambil masa 18 bulan untuk dibangunkan, pelancaran projek rahsia itu dibuat di New Zealand kelmarin.

Sebagai permulaan, sekitar 50 isi rumah mula menerima perkhidmatan internet yang dipancarkan daripada belon berisi gas helium tersebut.

Belon-belon udara panas itu mampu terbang pada ketinggian 19.2 kilometer dari Bumi.

Google berharap pihaknya dapat melancarkan beribu-ribu belon udara panas itu bagi menyalurkan perkhidmatan internet ke kawasan pedalaman di seluruh dunia.

Usaha tersebut yang dinamakan Projek Loon, kata Google, diharap dapat mengurangkan jurang digital antara 2.2 bilion pengguna internet semasa dan sekitar 4.8 bilion lagi yang tidak memiliki kemudahan itu.

Menurut Google, belon udara panas yang bertindak sebagai pencawang itu juga membolehkan negara rantau Asia Tenggara dan Afrika menyalurkan perkhidmatan internet pada kos lebih murah tanpa perlu membina kabel fiber optik.

"Ini projek besar, matlamat kami juga besar," kata ketua inisiatif tersebut, Mike Cassidy.

Dilengkapi panel solar, Belon-belon udara itu dikawal oleh stesen kawalan yang dibina pada jarak selang 100 kilometer.

We all love freeware, but someone has to pay the bills. That means sponsors who want you to try their products. You can decline optional downloads, but every now and then, unwelcome programs appear. The answer? More freeware, of course! Xplode's AdwCleaner is portable freeware that targets and removes adware, toolbars, browser hijackers, and other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). It's lightweight and fast, making it ideal for quick, regular preventative maintenance. It's Windows 8-ready, too.

We extracted and ran AdwCleaner on an ordinary Windows 7 PC with typical protection. AdwCleaner's logo-dominated user interface is small and generally easy to figure out. The controls are limited to Search and Delete buttons, though an unobtrusive Help feature in the upper-left corner accesses not only the program's options, which basically let you remove browsers and other items from the scan, but also the developer's site, where you'll find more information about AdwCleaner and PUPs, too. Clicking the Uninstall button completely removes this portable program from your system. That's a great feature if you're disinfecting a computer for a friend or relative since it leaves no traces behind, but it also deletes the executable file, so we suggest simply closing the window when you run AdwCleaner at home. When you're cleaning someone else's PC, simply copy AdwCleaner from your USB drive to the host machine and hit Uninstall when you're done.

We clicked Search, and a progress bar tracked AdwCleaner's scan. The scan finished quickly and turned up a small litter of PUPs whose pedigree AdwCleaner listed in a text file. While none was a serious threat, we were only too happy to send the whole bunch packing. AdwCleaner required a reboot to finish the job, which is usually a good sign, because a reboot is often required to thoroughly purge persistent PUPs, not to mention adware, toolbars, and other unwanted yet hard-to-eradicate software. But before and after we cleaned up after the PUPs, we also ran some similar freeware cleaners. AdwCleaner found things the others missed but also missed some minor items other tools found. That was more than enough reason to add AdwCleaner to our regularly scheduled maintenance.
